Through the most difficult of times, while we are all in search of finding our new normal, one thing hasn’t changed: The remarkable resolve of the Las Vegas community.
We’ve seen it for 25 years, and the situation surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus) is no different.
We strongly encourage ALL of you to stay safe and take whatever precautions are necessary to ensure continued good health. And we also encourage you to be compassionate and giving and support those in need … in our local community, throughout our state, and across the country and the world.
Every one of us bears the responsibility of caring not just for our own health, but also respecting and maintaining social distancing until such time as it is deemed safe to resume our normal activities and way of life. We are truly ALL in this together.
We’re especially proud of the amazing unselfish acts of our employees and community partners who have gone above and beyond to give back to the community. Our own Roxanne Andrews unselfishly used her skills to help sew masks for Child Haven recently, as part of a group of women who donated their time and energy to help those in need. You can read more about their incredible gesture here. Shout out to Rebecca Thompson as well, one of our friends and customers who was a part of this tremendous support for our community. We’re forever grateful for Roxanne, Rebecca and everyone who is making a difference, especially the first responders and medical professionals risking their lives every day.
We encourage you to do your part as well. There are many charities and organizations who need support, whether it’s financially, with supplies or equipment, food, or volunteering your time to help. And there are ways you can help even while doing things that may already be a part of your daily routine.
For example, you can help support our friends at Opportunity Village with a smile … Amazon Smile! The next time you shop for anything online, go to smile.amazon.com first and choose Opportunity Village as your preferred charity. It’s the same Amazon, but when you choose Amazon Smile, a portion of your purchase will automatically be donated to OV! Click here for more.
We’re also incredibly proud of how Southern Nevada residents have responded responsibly to the threat of this virus. We all know it has been challenging to #StayHomeForNevada, but the community as a whole has done its part and saved lives in the process.
Even as we begin to take steps toward that new normal, it’s encouraging that we have put ourselves in a position to consider taking some of those steps. Things will be different, and some things will be phased in throughout the community. We encourage everyone to continue to take every precaution available to stay safe.
